Social Isolation in Urbanity
“ Social Issues are rarely considered in the design of residential developments and traditional approaches may exacerbate the problem”( David Symons). With the rapid transformation of cities it is easy to forget the people and the quality of their lives and instead, focus on the quantity of people accommodated. The new/upcoming spaces built to accommodate the city dwellers lack many factors due to the crunch and high value of space. The loss of cities’ heritage and greenery plays an important role on society. With the building typology being more boxed in and repetitive, there is no hope for an interactive society. The need to look at how cities formed and changed; and how they affected the city dwellers are necessary to improve the way cities can be built ahead.
